Treasure hunting

This weekend I started the big seasonal switch between the fall-winter clothes with the spring-summer attire as I might have bitched about mentioned in an older post. Planed to finish too but failed miserably! I have way too many things and so little space it’s actually an exercise in imagination to get it done properly.

The exciting part was digging up some old pieces that I used to love but had forgotten about more recently. Imagine my joy when I rediscovered the few pairs of converse shoes I own and was looking for (with a certain amount of frenzy I will admit as much). I have this talent of stockpiling things only to panic that I don’t remember where I so carefully deposited them! It’s really great my life doesn’t depend on it!

Thankfully I do stumble upon some of them when I least expect it so it’s almost like a surprise I planned for myself (but not before I annoy myself thoroughly).

Getting to the point – I love my converse shoes because I associate them with all the good times I had, summer love and all the small wonders I’ve seen with them at my feet:). And if only for this reason I plan to wear them more often! And to seal the promise I went an looked for some inspiration for future outfits!

 I hope you’ll be inspired as well!

Dream outfit – Sporty toppings

I have so many clothes and accessories it seems kind of silly to even say this, but there are days when I feel like I have nothing to wear. I guess this is why I and all of us in fact keep on searching for new exciting items and constantly buying new things.

Today it’s one of those days and I created a dream outfit I wish I could wear if I had access to all the clothes in the world without any budgetary concern. It’s in fact am mix of low and high, but most of all a contrast between very elegant items and sport touches since this is my favorite thing right now. 

The star of both get up is the 10-deep cap contrasting with the super classy sandals, pretty dress, leather skirt and colorful silk shirt. I get this outfits are not everybody's cup of tea, but I bet most of you would wear any of these tacking or leaving one or two details.

 Which one do you like best?

Cercei Alice&Sara cu margele

 

I didn't have as much time as I wish to create jewelry and accessories lately, but I did make a few things including these white earrings. 

 

They are actually created with a bride in mind, but I think they can be worn by pretty much anybody. I used lace, white beads and silver details on a white base for a romantic end result. I hope you like them!

Summer mood

Today was the first day that I felt that spring it’s on her way and oh boy,  I’m I happy! Usually when I weak up to go to work it’s still dark outside but today the sun was up, the trees were blooming and the birds were singing. 

This is my favorite part of the year as I feel everything around me coming back to life and I can already start on my summer and vacation plans without feeling like I'm kidding myself. I’m so ready for summer! No need to tell you that I already see myself on a beautiful beach, with a drink in my hand and no worries to speak of. 

All I can think now is designer swimwear and a bunch of cool new shades. It’s all you need really! Those and a huge hat to protect your skin and also help you create the fantasy you're a movie star trying to avoid the crowds of fans!

But in all seriousness now, aren’t you ready to put to rest all the sweaters, coats and pants and just go for some floral dresses, mini skirts and short shorts? I know I am!

Going disco

I love fun jewelry and this long silver necklace is certainly  that - nothing says you're ready to party better than wearing 7 tiny disco balls around your neck.

And how about pairing it with something totally unexpected -  like a vintage maxi dress made of black lace. As you can see I almost ready to fly!:)

One thing missing that would really make this get up complete is one of those really colorful Ladies' Watches that makes your wrist look happy while also having a functional role. Ok, I'm not making much sense but, you know, it's one of those days!

Guler detasabil Alice&Sara angel wings (3)

So here you have another statement necklace/detachable collar from the series inspired by dragon sales and angel wings. I started designing it with dragon scales in my mind. Not the most obvious line of thinking, but it’s just how my mind works. It ended up looking more like two colorful angel wings, but I'm in love with it .

Basically this amazing  Peter Pan collar is made out of little pieces of colorful leather (red, yellow, blue and purple) that I designed, cut and hand saw myself in an angel wing shape with an ombre effect. I then added small black beads to finish of the look. The base is leather as well! 

It can be worn over your favorite shirt, blouse, sweater or dress – it gives an instant whimsical and feminine feel to any outfit. Every collar has a ribbon tie back to allow for adjustable tightness.

Sper ca o sa vad cat mai multi dintre cititorii mei la  Bloggers’ Yard Sale pe 31 martie!

Spring celebration

Today small happiness is the fact it’s sunny outside, I have a free day and everybody seems to be in a good mood. And believe or not, I’m very excited about being able to wear sunglasses again! I’m what you call a collector! 

OK, you got me; it’s actually what I say about myself in an attempt to rationalize having more than 30 pairs of sunglasses and always wanting more!

Right now I’m torn between a classic red or purple wayfarer Ray-Ban, not to mention a snazzy pair of cateye that keep on popping into my dreams as well! Which one do you favor?

Trench albastru inchis

 The trench is such a wardrobe staple in my book – I think everybody should have at least one! My personal goal is to have as many as possible and in every color and style you can think of!

This navy one I’m wearing in the pictures is a timeless piece that will look great over anything: pants, skirts, dresses! Such a classic garment will sail over trends and seasons and stay in your rotation forever giving every outfit a chic vibe.

Descriere: Trench albastru inchis de primavara sau toamna, se inchide in fata cu nasturi foarte frumosi din plastic negru cu insertii gri şi aurii, are doua buzunare laterale, ascunse, la umeri are niste detalii fronsate gen epoleti care se regasesc şi la maneci in zona mansetei, tot la maneci are un detaliu metalic argintiu, la gat se poate inchide cu doua snururi care se trec printr-o gaica din acealasi material, la spate este simplu (fara crapatura), are dublura fina din poliester albastru inchis, este nou.

Men’s fashion favorites

I’m always trying to write more articles for my masculine audience, so here I am with a post about my favorite things in men’s fashion. There are not necessary hot trends for this spring, but more things that I will always look good on a man and that I personally find timeless stamps of good taste.

Denim

Now this is a fabric that’s never going to be out of style. I’m a big fan of tight denim shirts, vests and jackets layered under blazers or other outwear pieces. Boys in top denim are hot.

Suits -  I’m in love with the raising popularity of the retro three piece suits in every shade a grey you can imagine (no pun intended), the paler the better. Burgundy and green are also coming strong as far as colors in men’s fashion go.

But if we are talking classic then nothing can beat a perfectly tailored navy or black suit.

Great accessories

No matter if we are talking about amazing pocket squares (double piping is all the rage this spring), beautifully crafted wallets, sharp ties, interesting cufflinks, classic watches, cool belts  -  these are the details that separate men from boys.

I’m also digging the headgear: caps, beanies, wide brimmed hats – they can look great in the right context.

The leather jacket is something everybody should have. Right now it’s all about the baseball jackets in leather! This piece will look as good worn over a simple white t-shirt or with a shirt and a tie. The leather jacket is timeless.

Blazers - There’s nothing better than a crisp jacket in a great color to elevate an outfit. A great fitting blazer will literally make anybody look better. This is a piece that you can invest in without looking back!

I’m a big fan of rock&roll influences in fashion and I love making beautiful things with a little bit of edge. Casino style mood board

You remember how I was recently telling you about the Casino themed party I was invited too. Just so you know (many of you have asked) the party is at least a month away but the friend that is throwing it knows me well and told me in advance because he guessed I was going to go nuts with excitement. 

People enjoy watching me making a big deal out of things and let’s face it, we all love the anticipating a bit, especially someone who can be a bit of a drama queen now and again (not going to name names here:))). 

In fact I think the greatest joy we have it’s in the desire itself, the expectation and speculation of it rather than the gratification.

 

I forgot to mention this other idea I had:  sequins. I feel glitter is a big part of the casino fashion and the Las Vegas charm so a sparkly short dress could be a good idea. The great part is I actually have a gold one that could work wonderfully.

The photos I choose are a sort of a mood board for the perfect casino fashion attire (from my point of view of course).

 This vintage Halston evening dress (1981) would be perfect but I think it would take a lot to convince The Indianapolis Museum of Art where is currently residing to borrow it to me for a home party!!!

Most of you were partial to the idea of me choosing the Eva Green/Vespre Lynd style in Casino Royale (long dress, deep cleavage or backless, red lips). I do have some doubts as I would be overdressed in a big way, even a bit ridiculous as every long dress I own is not really long enough for my tall frame. 

But you know what? The cleavage idea is not half bad! As previously stated my poker/gambling skills are mediocre at best and I’ve been told that how others perceive you can help you win the game which is basically my evil plan.

It hasn’t been done before, so pay attention - I’m hoping people will be so distracted with me looking good that they will not pay that much attention to the game!:)))))) 

I’m just joking, we’re probably only gonna play for bragging rights, but I am super competitive nevertheless. Not to mention childish, but I feel a theme party is like a fairytale for adults. Man, I love those!
